Paint Recycling
Residents of Genesee County can now bring their left-over, unused, and unwanted latex paint to the Genesee County Habitat for Humanity Restore in the City of Flint to be recycled at no charge! Regular business hours are Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What Happens to the Paint
The paint collected at the Restore is transported to a processing facility in Battle Creek, operated by ePaint LLC, where the paint is then made into a new paint product called "Everybody’s Paint" or "ePaint" for short. This new paint product is then returned to the Restore in the City of Flint where residents can purchase new paint for under $15 per gallon! Paint colors even have their own Michigan-made touch such as "Keep Lake Michigan Blue", "Mackinaw Green" and "Petoskey Stone."
Program Organization
This program has been organized by the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission with support from the Genesee County Habitat for Humanity and Keep Genesee County Beautiful.
